This funny cartoon strip from bLaugh on bloggers brings memories of those days when I quit my day job to become a full time blogger.
Blogs were still at a nascent stage here and most people would ask you to spell the term "Blogger" because they were probably hearing it for the first time.
Things however changed for the better after the blog ban which actually popularized the concept of blogging in India. Now, even the domestic help has some clue about blog though she is not reading them.

I for one can say that I really thought that blogging would be a fleeting fad that would come and go quickly, but my participation in the blogosphere has grown exponentially as of late. Not only have I become an avid reader, but also have been doing my own blog.
I was totally unaware of the India ban on blogging until I read it here...as it was not covered in the news, which I guess in some way proves how the dispensing of information has improved with blogs being around.
Great read...thanks!

@Amit,
I perfectly agree with you regarding
"Things however changed for the better after the blog ban which actually popularized the concept of blogging in India."
The stupidity of Government of India in blocking weblogs was really a humor of the millennium. I too have a comprehensive coverage on the topic. Check out here.

Now a days I see that almost everyone is trying their hands on blogs.
The success of blogs depends on two factors:-
1) Computer getting cheaper, I bought a computer for Rs 43,000 some three years ago with normal configuration. Now a days, with high configuration you can get it for 25,000.
2) Internet getting faster and cheaper. Today BSNL announced a cheaper broadband.
Taking blogging as a full time job is still a rare happening in India.
