HP Memory Spot for Capturing Audio Photographs or Digital Picture Postcards

How about sending a traditional picture postcard using snail mail that even contains digital pictures of a vacation, plus sounds and even video clips ?

HP Labs have developed a memory chip that is less than half the size of a rice grain (see picture) but can store upto half MB of electronic data like pictures, audio-video clips or even soft copies of documents.

Known as the Memory Spot chip, this can be attached to a postcard or photograph and sent using snail mail.
So a seaside postcard could be accompanied by photos of your family at the beach. A wedding photo could contain excerpts of the wedding video or an audio recording of the ceremony.
Hewlett-Packard plans to persuade cellphone and PDA makers to enable their products to read the chips.
