Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't provide a direct way to download these fonts without buying Windows Vista.

But here's a simple trick to download the Vista fonts for free and legally without buying a Vista license:
Download either the free Microsoft Powerpoint 2007 Viewer or the Microsoft Office Compatibility pack - both the software include the new Windows Vista fonts.
Once you install the above Microsoft programs, the Vista Fonts also become available for use on your Windows XP system. The fonts are Candara, Consolas, Calibri, Cambria, Constantia and Corbel. Thanks GlobalNerdy.

This is excellent!
Good thing I searched for "picasa web import flickr" and your site was in the results!
I've been wanting these fonts on my Win XP/Office 2003 system ever since I installed the 2007 Beta!! I would get Vista but it doesn't work properly with everything I need it to work with. Which is a shame cause it rocks!
Anyways, cheers for the tip and congrats on the MVP award, that's pretty cool.
What else do you have on this site of yours...

Works perfectly. Thanks Amit, I've been hunting high and low for this. That Best Tech Blog prize is very well-deserved, and I remain your fan.

You can use the cabextract utility to extract the contents of Powerpoint Viewer installer PowerPointViewer.exe on your Mac.
Now search for the C*.TTF files in that folder.
But I am not sure if that's a legal thing to do.

If one were to download the 'free complimentary 60 trial' of Office 2007, and not install it, it's simple to look at the installer and extract all the fonts (and just the fonts) for Office 2007.
