The new packaging of Office 2007 system and Windows Vista is inside a small, hard, plastic container that's designed to protect the software inside for life-long use. It provides a convenient and attractive place for you to permanently store both discs and documentation.

Woaah!! Someone hired a designer at last!!
These look great! Forget protecting the software for a long life (cardboard boxes do it too), let's appreciate these for what they actually are meant to be... super sexy packaging. Here's to you, apple.

I dont know if you are a windows fan. I am more of a mac fan. Would love to have a blog comparing vista to OS X (although there are a few on the net already, would love to see your take on this).
Have a nice day!

Except that I can't figure out how to open it! I saw a picture on another blog -- still can't do it. I see no instructions anywhere.

Impossible to open. What a terrible box design. Absolutely terrible.

I had a great amount of difficulty opening this product. There's a sticker with seemingly a serial number across the top that needs to be removed--you need good strong long nails on your fingers to do this. When you tear the sticker with the seemingly serial number on it, you get upset. Then, you have to look for the box hinge and push and pull and pry.
An absolutely loathsome design.
