MSN search engine says 1200 webpages while Yahoo says 1900 webpages [very close]. On the other hand, Google claims to index 17000 webpages of this site. Where did Google find those extra 15000 pages which I know for sure that they do not exist on this site.
I think Yahoo is the most honest of the lot. It's also the best search engine for finding fresh content. But when it comes to sending traffic, Google rules.

Yes, I totally agree. Yahoo index faster and with more accuracy. It’s also my experience. And Google is totally biased when we talk about backward links.

(2000 times 8) + 2000 = 18000 (~= 17000 that google shows). You offer language translation of your website content in 8 different lnaguages. Google follows those (image) links as well, which yahoo and msn do not.
Google's figures are more accurate (and in fact more beneficial, as at least some of your search engine traffic from googl e will also be directly related to these translated pages that are in google's index).

Saurab, While you have made a good observation, I really doubt if that's true - reason being my translate links are done in Javascript and Googlebot doesn't parse JS yet.

dude... google searches older pages.. so there is a chance that it was indexing ur pages 3 years old or so...
why dont u try to go to more than 2000 and see if it still pointing to valid pages....

Good observation Amit... After reading Saurabhs comment I checked for english pages and google gave following result
