Technorati Searchlet not working

There seems to an issue with today. Even if you limit your search to one particular domain, it fetches results from the entire web.

I did a Technorati: Search for India related posts in my blog got some arbid results:

150,094 posts from http://labnol.blogspot.com matching India sorted by most recent. Query took 0.6670 seconds

Updated (March 2, 2005) - The technorati searchlet bug is fixed and the search works perfect as before. Thanks Edgardo and Dave for providing such a quick fix - According to Dave, founder and CEO of Technorati - It is a known regression bug, we're working on a fix as we speak.

I hope they sort it out. My searchlet seems to be the damn centerpoint of my blog's existence. I even deleted the archive section from the sidebar because I thought it would suffice.

Awesome blog mate!

Even I am loosing visitors due to technorati problem.

If they don't sort it in a day or two, I might switch to blogdigger

I'd say hold on mate. I'm quite sure that Technorati isn't so clueless.

Anyway, do let me know if there are other equally good options. You have indeed provided one for now :)

Sudhir, You can check this post if you are looking for alternatives to technorati.

Cheers.

Just got a reply from Technorati Support.

Hi Technorati User,
Currently our searchlet feature is broken. It will do searches but it will bring back all the results from our indexes instead of just a single site. We are working as quickly as possible to fix this and will update you when we have resolved the issue. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

Thanks for using Technorati!

As far as I can tell, the Technorati searchlet has never worked properly (I've been trying to make it work in various blogs for months now and it rarely yields good results - it can't even find tags in posts - google does).

I exchanged some posts on my apperceptions blog with their CEO about it and he left the usual marketing hype message, but nothing ever really got done.

I was talking with the CEO of a major blogging company the other day and he asked me "What's technorati really good for?" and I had to admit that the name just sounds cool, otherwise not much else.

Yes Marcus, even I get the feeling that Technorati is not behaving the right way.

Infact, if I delete some blog post, it is not reflected in the technorati database. I wrote to technorati support but still to hear from them.

I too switched to Google sitesearch though it indexes only 150 of my 500+ blog posts.

Thanks.
